We just went to the strangest place for dinner. I only went because I didn’t think it could be as bad as it looked from the street… From the street the sign said “Wild Bills BBQ and Internet Sports Bar”

Inside all the workers were standing around just staring at the walls.

It was a horrible idea brought to life! I couldn’t believe my eyes. Who wants to have a keyboard in the middle of their table while eating BBQ???

Case in point: The only other people there. Some guy with his family… he’s playing solitaire in this picture while his family stares on. Brilliant!

This year we did Christmas at our house… Very chill and relaxed and dark..

Below you can see our giant tree. It took forever to get in the house…

Here’s Christmas at Jamie’s family’s house the next day… a lot more presents and people and light .. There are a bunch more pictures posted at photoblast.

This is Jamie trying to get into my office.. she wants a present. What you can’t hear is the sound of her quietly wimpering, “Why can’t I have a present? Don’t you love me?”

While I was driving home today I saw a strange parking sign… I wish there were more signs like this…

I created a little program in flash which will allow me to post lots of raw pictures easily. These photos are unedited so some are a little dark or blurry. I also added some old dusty 35mm scans.

    It’s located at: davidmulhern.com/photoblast

All the words that matter in this world have strange blurry mutated definitions in my mind. No.. not the words – the concepts behind them. They are melding together, masking this huge jumbled question that never gets asked. Things are so much simpler than I’d like them to be. I need this world to be complex.. insanely overwhelming.. this way I will feel justified in my paralyzed, distracted state. The world is complex – but not in the way I need it to be. I just pray I can accept the simplicity of the answer and live it.

This morning, the streets were still wet from the rain. In the desert, this is rare. I hate it when it’s beautiful because I feel obligated to be outside the whole day doing something.. anything…

But today was Monday, I had to go to work. From the window I realized that if I climbed to the top of the mountains I could sit inside the clouds.

At lunch, we ran into Tanner…

Jen took a picture of me with her camera phone.

At the end of the day, all the clouds were gone. It’s still cold, but I’m just not myself with an empty sky.

It’s raining outside today. I woke up and drove out into the desert a few miles south of where I live.

Today I decided that I really do like the desert. In high school, Jen and I always tried to figure out ways to get out of this place… I’ve decided that, until I do leave, I’ll enjoy it.

When it’s wet, it’s like living in a giant mudpuddle…

They say that on this mountain wild horses roam free… The clouds were moving so fast. I stood out in that field for a really long time. The wind was icy cold. I didn’t see any horses.

I found a cotton field out there too. I’d never seen raw cotton up close until today.

We just got home from a few parties. I’ll post the images here for Robert so that when we talk about it, he’ll have a visual.

The first one was my uncle Paul’s 40th birthday. We had the party out on the balcony of a two million dollar home. It was cold, but they had heaters and a fire.

Here is a view of the fire…

This is the view of the lesser millionaires below…

I snuck a picture of my wife Jamie sitting by a heater.

Afterwards we went to Jen’s house… Here’s Jen and Craig and behind them is the room Jen sort of built.

Here is Jamie at Jen’s party… she was pretty tired.
