Yesterday
Don’t let yesterday’s post fool you .. 10 minutes after writing it, I took 61 photos of the world around me. Of course, I couldn’t capture what I saw .. maybe I just need a better camera, or maybe the camera needs a better owner .. or maybe I should just enjoy something beautiful as it’s happening .. at least for 20 minutes next time.

Man… David those pictures are awesome!! I think it’s a great thing that you think pictures don’t do justice to what you can see… because then there would be no point in trying to capture beauty, even the imitation of beauty. People would stay indoors, looking pictures of nature instead of immersing themselves in it.
You did the best thing by creating a memory for yourself with a picture but still realizing that the emotions you felt, the wind on your face, how the rain sounded and smelled… was the complete experience. That’s the thing about cameras. They’re wonderful for triggering memories, but they don’t have that special capacity that humans do… to throw uplifted hands in the air, turn slowly in a circle and feel cool drops of rain on our faces. That’s a true gift, eh.
